Principal's Letter For February 2026

Dear ACIS families and friends, as we move into February, I would like to thank our students, staff, and families for the continued energy and commitment that make our school community thrive.

This month brings meaningful academic milestones, exciting events, and strong athletic performances, reflecting the balanced and holistic learning environment we value at ACIS.

Season 2 of CMAC came to a close, with only two competitions remaining. We are proud to share that our U16 girls basketball and U20 boys basketball teams will represent ACIS at the CMAC Final Tournament on February 6–7. These final matches mark the conclusion of a very successful CMAC season, showcasing our students’ teamwork, resilience, and school spirit. Looking ahead, Season 3 of CMAC will begin on February 9, featuring volleyball, badminton, and futsal.

Our Kindergarten students have an exciting month ahead, highlighted by Market Day, which promotes creativity, collaboration, and real-world learning. In the Primary School, students will participate in Star 360 testing to support academic growth and data-informed instruction. They are also preparing for the Spelling Bee Competition and Literacy Week, fostering a love of reading, writing, and language.

Secondary School students will take part in Star 360 testing and Spelling Bee preliminary rounds. Our ELA and Social Studies Departments are collaborating on Chinese New Year infographic projects, allowing students to combine research, cultural understanding, and visual communication.

We are also proud to celebrate student achievement beyond the classroom, with Beetle advancing to the finals of the Trinity College English Speech Contest, and students engaging in TEDx-style activities that encourage innovation, critical thinking, and confident public speaking.

Lastly, ACIS is pleased to host the WASC Visiting Committee during the week of February 23–27, marking an important milestone in our ongoing commitment to school improvement and accreditation. We are honored to welcome

  • Mrs. Rebecca Jane Simpson, Visiting Committee Chair and EAL / Student Support Coordinator at Mont’ Kiara International School;

  • Ms. Rebekka Jensen, Athletics, Arts, and Activities Coordinator at The International School Yangon; and

  • Mrs. Anna Murcho, WASC Coordinator at Kyoto International School.

This visit reflects the collective efforts of our faculty, staff, students, and families, and we appreciate your continued support as we proudly share our learning community and reflect on our growth.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership and trust. Wishing you and your family a meaningful and successful February.
