As November begins, I want to express my gratitude for the energy and teamwork that define our ACIS community. The first half of the school year has been a vibrant mix of learning, growth, and collaboration.
Earlier this month, Ms. Anna Chen (University Counselor), Ms. Ayesha Khan (WASC Coordinator), and I attended the Outstanding Schools Dubai 2025 Conference. The event offered insights into curriculum, assessment, and school improvement that directly support our WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) journey. We returned inspired with new ideas to strengthen academics and student support.
We are also proud to share exciting university news. Two of our Grade 11 students have already received conditional offers from top UK universities:
Horen – University of Bristol & University of Glasgow (Business, Law, and Social Science)
Jerry – University of Bristol (confirmed) and awaiting University of Glasgow (Science and Engineering)
Congratulations to the students, their families, and teachers! Achievements like these reflect ACIS’s commitment to College and Career Readiness and WASC Criterion 3.1: Student Support for Academic and Career Growth.
Our athletes are off to a strong start in Season 2 of the Chiang Mai Athletic Conference (CMAC), featuring U8–U14 Football, U16–U20 Basketball, and Track & Field and Cross Country.
Key dates:
Nov 18: U8 & U10 Football at Varee International School
Nov 26: CMAC Cross Country Meet at Prem International School
Athletics foster resilience, teamwork, and integrity - key aspects of our Schoolwide Learner Outcomes (SLOs) and WASC Criterion 3.2.
The Parent Tech Support Drive-Thru resumes Nov 18 after school, offering guidance on Google Classroom, Google Spaces, and other digital tools. This supports family engagement and aligns with WASC Criterion 4.3: Effective Use of Technology.
Please also join us for ACIS Coffee Hour on Thursday, Nov 21. Topics will include WASC updates, university guidance, EAL/SEL support, grading, parent volunteering, and tips for using Google Spaces and Alma. We will also discuss strategies for student engagement, curriculum alignment, and assessment best practices as part of our Focus on Learning (FOL) process.
Thank you for your ongoing support. Whether celebrating achievements, cheering at games, or joining Coffee Hour, your involvement strengthens our community and helps prepare every ACIS student to thrive as a compassionate, confident, and globally minded learner.
Wishing you a wonderful November - I look forward to seeing many of you soon!
Timothy Traser (Mr. T)
